I have spent the better part of my career doing two things I love: hunting for bargains and building relationships worth keeping.
I have decades of experience conducting investment research and providing portfolio management services to clients who want more than a manager — they want a trusted partner. My investment philosophy is grounded in value: find well-run businesses selling at a reasonable price, hold them with conviction loosely held, and let time and compounding work in your favor. No gimmicks, no shortcuts, no chasing whatever the market is excited about this week.
The analytical side of investing — the deep research, the financial analysis, the patient search for mispriced assets and the ability to hold them for the long term— suits my temperament perfectly.
But what drives me most is the relationship itself. I enjoy nothing more than earning and deserving trust of my clients built over multiple decades, through the full arc of their financial lives. The goal isn’t just to grow wealth — it’s to be the advisor clients trust completely, call first, and are glad they found.
I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance degree from the University of South Dakota in 2007 and received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2012. I serve as a Trustee of the University of South Dakota Foundation and am a member of its Investment Committee.
My wife, Anne, and I live in Sioux Falls with our two young boys. I enjoy the occasional round of golf, reading, long walks spent listening to podcasts and company conference calls, and spending time doing whatever my boys are into at the time.
